Problems during installation
Bandwidth shaping isn't working! Why?
Check for the mtuath script. Is it working properly? Start mtauth from the UNIX shell:
mtauth [username] [mac]
- Is it reporting normal output or only database connection error? In the case of database errors, install Perl MySql support and/or check database permissions (username, password).
- Check for the "users" file. Is mtauth DEFAULT line properly inserted here?
- Check for the queues created in Winbox in the Simple queues window.
When I start Radius manager web interface, it shows only to install Zend optimizer. It is installed but Radius Manager is not working. Why?
Your Zend Optimizer is not working correctly. For example, on FC 5 You have to install Zend Optimizer 3.0.1. On RH8 and RH 9 Zend Optimizer 3.0.2. After installing Zend Optimizer, start php interpreter from shell:
php -v
Is it write some library errors? In this case it is incompatible with your PHP/Linux version. Try other versions. Don't forget to manually restore the old php.ini and delete the whole Zend directory when installing the different versions of Zend Optimizer.
When starting Radius Manager, many debug messages are displayed, like the following:
Notice: Use of undefined constant db_host - assumed 'db_host' in
/usr/local/userman/radiusmanager/definitions.php on line 4
Radius Manager is working properly. You have to disable debug mode in your PHP environment.
Usage of Radius manager
How can my customers access their web interface (the user's area)?
The URL for the users area is:
http://www.yourhost.com/userinfo.php
My browser only asks for re-authentication! What to do?
This is a PHP http authentication problem. If You misstyped the username/password, You can't login anymore to the system. The system will ask for it again and again. In this case, close all your browser windows, reopen a new one and type the correct username/password combination.
